When I googled “How to write a personal blog about me page” (yes, I did) there are literally thousands of answers to that question.
I don’t have time to read all that shit, so I’m just going to tell it like it is.
My husband, two kiddos, four dogs and three cats live with me. We own a little farmette just west of Madison, Wisconsin where we run a small cut flower farm, Mad Lizzie’s, as a glorified hobby. Working from home for a local health club gives me a ton of freedom and can also get me in trouble sometimes.
I am a firm believer in the Law of Attraction and I love me some woo woo shit. Beer, boxed wine and cheese curds are my jam. I swear like a sailor, tell it like it is and wear yoga pants 98% of the time.
Oh, yeah. My name is Katy.
And those hooligans up there round out the rest of the Ripp clan; my husband Dale, son Miles and daughter Maddie.
I used to feel ashamed about EVERYTHING; real things and things I made up to feel guilty about. On any given day I would have my own little conversation about what a failure I was on every level; as a wife, mother, friend, employee, entrepreneur, maid, bookkeeper, etc. The phrase “I can’t” became a part of my identity.
On January 1st, 2019 I started a journey of self-care by taking a 90 day break from alcohol, coffee and soda. After 20+ years of feeling like shit, I finally got sick and tired of being sick and tired.
An endeavor as epic as this called for some major accountability so I started an online journal about it here.
My intention for this blog is to be as real and honest as I can about some of my struggles in hopes that others will have the permission to share their own. I aim to build a community of women (and men if they want to read about periods, chafing and hairy upper lips) that want to stand in their own truth and live their best life. (That last part makes me want to throw up in my mouth a little bit, but I can’t think of a cool way to say it.)
So, that’s the surface me. Read on if you want to watch me peel back the layers.
